Partial Shade to Full Sun (3+ Hours Direct Sunlight)Mature Height 12 – 15 FeetMature Width 2 – 3 FeetGrowing Zones 4 – 8Holiday Amber Gold Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis ‘Amber Gold’) stands out for its lime-green foliage trimmed in yellow that matures into warm amber tones by winter. Reaching about 12–15 feet tall and only 2–3 feet wide, this upright conifer fits neatly into tight spaces while still making a statement. Its naturally columnar shape offers year-round structure and lends an elegant silhouette without heavy pruning. The striking color shifts and pleasant evergreen scent make it a captivating choice for ornamental screens or accent plantings.Unlike disposable plastic décor, a live Amber Gold Arborvitae is both eco-friendly and long-lasting. It can briefly star as a holiday centerpiece indoors, then move outside come springtime, reducing waste and recurring decoration costs. The gentle aroma and subtle color changes also add that authentic seasonal charm. This approach pairs sustainability with beauty, creating a truly memorable display beyond just one season.Holiday Amber Gold Arborvitae CareKeep your arborvitae in a sunny window from January until spring, watering lightly when the top couple inches of soil begin to dry. Watch for signs of dryness or browning at the tips, which can indicate low humidity or excessive heat. If needed, mist the foliage occasionally to prevent dryness.Once frost risk subsides, gradually introduce your Arborvitae to outdoor conditions by placing it outside a few hours each day over the course of a week or two. Then, select a spot with at least half a day of sun and well-drained, compost-enriched soil. Set the root ball so it’s level with the ground surface, backfill gently, and water thoroughly. Applying a layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture, and occasional fertilizing each spring supports healthy growth.Holiday Amber Gold Arborvitae InformationUSDA Hardiness Zones: 4 – 8Plant Type: BushesLight Exposure: Partial Shade to Full Sun (At Least 3 Hours Of Direct Sunlight)Mature Height: 12 – 15 FeetMature Spread: 2 – 3 FeetMature Spacing: 2 – 3 FeetHabit: UprightFlower Color(s): NoneFlower Description: Bloom Period: Foliage Type: Evergreen, VariegatedFoliage Color(s): GreenFoliage Description: Seasonal Interest: N/AWatering: AverageResists: Disease, Pests & InsectsTolerates: DroughtAttracts: Bees, Butterflies, HummingbirdsContainer Role: Uses: Borders, Mass Planting, Specimen or Focal PointFeatures: Attracts Pollinators, Foliage Interest, Low MaintenanceBrand: Common Name: Amber Gold ArborvitaeOther Name(s): Amber Gold ArborvitaeScientific Name: Thuja occidentalis Amber Gold
