Place the plants in part to full sun. Ideally, the plants need at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight to thrive. Water when the top few inches of the soil dries out and use slightly acidic, well-draining soil. Feed the plants using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 2 to 4 weeks from spring through fall. Pinch back spent flowers.
