BTK is NOT a chemical pesticide but a microorganism that kills caterpillars – Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki. Caterpillars stop eating as soon as they ingest this natural bacteria and will die a few days later. Very low application rates required for effective control.
A biological insecticide, it controls caterpillars, including cabbage worm, tomato hornworm and many more. May be used on vegetables, fruit, shade trees, ornamentals and evergreens. Bio Protec is non-selective – Monarch Butterfly larva only feed on milkweed – so be careful when spraying!
