Dwarf White Camellia

The charming good looks of the Dwarf White Camellia make this shrub an instant favorite with many gardeners. The Camellia sasanqua ‘Green 02-004’ boasts pure white double flowers. The blooms are full and have a decadent, ruffled look. The lovely flowers continuously bloom from spring through the first frost. Glossy green ovate foliage with gently scalloped edges offset the beautiful blooms. The woody, upright form and compact size make this shrub ideal for areas with limited space or for spaces with harsh lines between large shrubs and smaller plants, as Dwarf White can help smooth the transition. Use the Dwarf White Camellia to create a foundation planting or to border a patio or driveway. Situate the plant near a walkway, windows you often open, or an outdoor entertaining space so you can enjoy the delicate, floral fragrance of the flowers. The Dwarf White Camellia grows in zones 7 through 9. Dwarf White Camellia Care Camellia shrubs prefer rich, moist, acidic, and well-drained soil. Select a planting location that receives 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. Water when the top few inches of the soil are dry. Established plants need water roughly every two weeks, depending on rainfall. Fertilize in the spring and early summer for an abundant bloom cycle. Routine pruning removes dead growth or crossed branches and encourages growth and a full form. This shrub can be pruned at any time of the year, but the plant may experience reduced blooming. Save major pruning until after the last flowers fade, typically in the fall. Trim lower branches to give the shrub a tree-like look if desired. Plan to prune every few years. Dwarf White Camellia Spacing The Dwarf White Camellia reaches 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. Space shrubs 3 to 4 feet apart to create a hedge or continuous planting.Dwarf White Camellia Information USDA Hardiness Zones: 7 – 9Plant Type: PerennialsLight Exposure: Partial Sun (5 – 6 Hours Of Direct Sunlight)Mature Height: 3 – 4 FeetMature Spread: 3 – 4 FeetSpacing: 3 – 4 FeetHabit: MoundedFlower Color(s): WhiteFlower Description: Bloom Period: Foliage Type: EvergreenFoliage Color(s): GreenFoliage Description: Dark GreenSeasonal Interest: Summer FloweringWatering: AverageResists: Disease, Pests & InsectsTolerates: HeatAttracts: Birds, ButterfliesContainer Role: Uses: Borders, Containers, Hedges & Privacy, Mass PlantingFeatures: Attracts Pollinators, Cut Flowers, Fragrant, Low MaintenanceBrand: Common Name: Dwarf White CamelliaOther Name(s): Sasanqua camelliaScientific Name: Camellia sasanqua ‘Green 02-004’
