This Mobjack Nursery discovery is a tetraploid sport of the popular H. sieboldii ‘Kabitan’. H. ‘First Mate’ makes a vigorous 10″ tall x 21″ wide clump of narrow, thick golden leaves, each surrounded by a dramatic dark green border. In mid-August, the clumps are topped with 2′ flower spikes of light lavender flowers. I think you will really find this hosta quite unique.
