Thanks to plantsman Ted Stephens for bringing this wonderful deciduous perennial lespedeza back from Japan and making it available. Lespedeza ‘Little Volcano’ is a selection from the Ryukyu Islands, Japan. The 7′ tall x 15′ wide mound of branches, clothed with small, dark green leaves, explodes, starting in mid-September, as the stems are smothered with bright red-purple flowers that last until mid-October…stunning!
