Pinpoint Blue False Cypress – Holiday

Partial Sun to Full Sun (At Least 5 Hours of Direct Sunlight)Height 15 – 20 FeetWidth 5 – 6 FeetGrowing Zones 5-7Pinpoint® Blue False Cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana ‘SMNCLBF’) captures attention with its soft, feathery branches in a dusty blue hue. Growing about 15 to 20 feet tall yet only around 5 to 6 feet wide, it forms a slim column that rarely needs pruning. The foliage remains dense and welcoming through every season, giving you year-round color without monopolizing precious space. Deer typically pass it by, and its upright form works wonderfully as a striking accent or an elegant screen.Inviting a live Pinpoint® Blue False Cypress indoors at the holidays delivers natural charm and a subdued evergreen scent. Instead of discarding plastic greenery once festivities end, you can keep your shrub alive for future enjoyment outdoors. Its graceful silhouette and subtle blue tint offer a unique touch compared to typical conifers, and it also makes a thoughtful gift that showcases nature’s beauty. Adding a living shrub to your celebrations introduces an element of lasting interest after the season changes.Holiday Pinpoint® Blue False Cypress CareFrom January through spring, place your shrub where it can receive at least a few hours of bright sunlight, either direct or indirect. Water only when the top inch of soil begins to dry, as soggy conditions can harm the roots. Rotate the container weekly so the plant grows consistently on all sides, and if indoor air feels dry, mist the foliage occasionally. As conditions warm outdoors, ease your cypress into its permanent space by setting it outside for a few hours daily over one to two weeks. Then dig a hole about twice the root ball’s width in well-draining soil that gets at least four hours of sun. Position your cypress so the top of the root ball is level with or slightly above ground, backfill gently, and soak thoroughly. A mulch layer around the base helps keep moisture consistent, encouraging steady growth without demanding frequent attention.Holiday Pinpoint® Blue False Cypress InformationUSDA Hardiness Zones: 5-7Plant Type: ShrubSunlight Exposure: Partial Sun to Full SunMature Height: 15 – 20 FeetMature Width: 5 – 6 FeetPlant Spacing: 5 – 6 FeetGrowth Habit: UprightFlower Color(s): NoneSeasonal Interest: Grown for FoliageFoliage Type: EvergreenFoliage Color(s): BlueResists: DeerFeatures: Deadheading Not Necessary, Foliage Interest, Low Maintenance, Native to North AmericaUses: Border Plant Container Edging Plant Good for Screening Landscape Specimen or Focal PointPlant Brand: Proven WinnersBotanical/Scientific Name: Chamaecyparis lawsoniana ‘SMNCLBF’ USPP 30,707
