A fertile, moist and well-drained soil will help support its growth and prevent its roots from becoming overly wet. Water when the top of the soil is dry to keep it moist. A balanced slow-release feed applied in spring will help promote the best blooms. The Snow Queen Clematis falls into group 2 when it comes to pruning. Lightly prune in late winter and after the first flowers fade, cutting back to a healthy pair of buds. Mulching with organic matter will help reduce moisture loss and keep the roots cool.Snow Queen Large-Flower Clematis SpacingOver time, the Snow Queen Large-Flower Clematis can grow to 7 to 10 feet tall and 3 to 6 feet wide.
