Its slow, steady growth maintains a columnar profile, perfect for flanking a door or softening a foundation corner. This hardy evergreen also withstands strong winds, making it great for a screen or windbreak. Plus, you’ll appreciate its low-maintenance nature and year-round color that require minimal pruning.Opting for a living Blue Point Juniper at the holidays offers a welcome alternative to synthetic decorations. Besides enjoying fresh fragrance, you can keep it indoors temporarily and set it outdoors in spring, adding long-lasting value to your landscape. It’s a thoughtful gift choice for gardeners or anyone who loves the beauty of nature in winter. The best part is you don’t discard it after the season—you simply transition it to the garden, providing continued enjoyment for years to come.Holiday Blue Point Juniper Plant CareFrom January to early spring, situate your juniper in a bright window spot and water lightly when the topsoil feels slightly dry. Occasional misting can help if indoor air is especially dry. Give the pot a quarter-turn every week or two for even light exposure and an upright growth habit.Once outdoor temperatures are consistently above freezing, gradually introduce your juniper to outside conditions for about a week. Then, dig a hole twice as wide as its root ball in well-draining soil and set the juniper at ground level. Backfill gently, water thoroughly, and mulch lightly. With adequate sunlight (six hours or more per day) and minimal upkeep, your Blue Point Juniper will thrive in its permanent outdoor home.Holiday Blue Point Juniper Plant FactsUSDA Hardiness Zones: 4-9Flower Color(s): n/aBloom Period: Grown for FoliageFoliage Color(s): Blue-greenLight Exposure: Full SunHeight: 12 FeetSpread: 6-8 FeetHabit: PyramidalWatering: MediumFeatures: Easy CareScientific Name: Juniperus chinensis ‘Blue Point’Common Name: Blue Point JuniperBrand: Southern Living Plants
