Typically topping out around 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide, this low-growing conifer adds a cooling dash of color to sunny borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It’s renowned for thriving in dry conditions once established, making it an ideal choice for anyone seeking a hardy, drought-tolerant accent. Its slow growth pace means minimal maintenance, allowing gardeners to enjoy its wintry allure in any season.A living Blue Star Juniper in your holiday décor offers a nature-inspired alternative to plastic trimmings. The lovely needle clusters provide soft texture and a subtle evergreen scent in the home, delivering a charming conversation piece. When the festivities are done, simply relocate it outside rather than discarding it – you’ll reduce waste while adding long-lasting beauty to your landscape. It also makes a considerate, eco-friendly gift for fellow garden enthusiasts.Holiday Blue Star Juniper CareFrom January until spring, place your juniper near a sunlit window, watering sparingly whenever the top inch of soil begins to dry. If the indoor environment is particularly dry, an occasional light mist can help needles stay fresh. Rotating the container every week or two prevents lopsided growth. After frosts have passed, gradually move your Blue Star Juniper outdoors so it can acclimate to higher light and temperature swings. Once it’s ready, choose a site with full sun and well-drained soil, dig a hole about twice the root ball’s width, and carefully backfill. Water thoroughly to settle the roots, then add a thin mulch layer for moisture retention. From there, this rugged, drought-tolerant shrub will require little fuss while bringing year-round color.Holiday Blue Star Juniper InformationUSDA Hardiness Zones: 4 – 8Plant Type: BushesLight Exposure: Full Sun (At Least 6 Hours Of Direct Sunlight)Mature Height: 2 – 3 FeetMature Spread: 3 – 4 FeetSpacing: 3 – 4 FeetHabit: Mounded, SpreadingFlower Color(s): NoneFlower Description: Bloom Period: Foliage Type: EvergreenFoliage Color(s): Blue, GreenFoliage Description: Seasonal Interest: Spring Flowering, Summer Flowering, Fall Flowering, Winter Interest, 4 Season InterestWatering: AverageResists: Deer, DiseaseTolerates: Drought, SaltAttracts: BirdsContainer Role: Uses: Containers, Specimen or Focal Point, Wildlife GardensFeatures: Attracts Pollinators, Foliage InterestBrand: Common Name: Blue Star JuniperOther Name(s): Scientific Name: JUNIPERUS SQUAMATA `BLUE STAR`
