Formosa Azalea is an upright hybrid evergreen shrub with narrow dark green leaves. The clusters of large rich lavender flowers with a dark blotch begin to bloom in spring. Cold winters may freeze the flower buds and reduce bloom come spring, and leaves may experience winter burn. A very versatile plant that prefers partial sun with acidic rich, well-drained soils. Azaleas are excellent pollination and butterfly attractors. Formosa are very sun tolerant and can take near full sun.
